Here’s another video from Israel’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Danny Ayalon which flew in under my radar last week while I was busy with family stuff. He explains the truth about the Palestinian refugees in his usual succinct and slightly humourous way. Enjoy!

I like this man! Why doesn’t Israel have more like him and Mark Regev (for the english-speaking world) and their equivalents for elsewhere? I know that huge numbers still won’t watch such videos, but there are lots of people out there who need info like this.
That’s a very good question Brian. Danny Ayalon is doing the best he can – and he’s in a position of influence as Deputy FM. But Israel is its own worst enemy when it comes to its political appointees, Hasbara efforts etc.
I have a problem with the map that is presented in the first 50 seconds of the vid. The accurate map should have been the partition map:

The map Ayalon is showing is actually the borders of Israel as determined by the armistice agreement at the end of the 1947-8 war.
I hadn’t even noticed until you mentioned it. You are right although I don’t know if it makes that much difference to the entire effect. It’s purely illustrative in this video. Or perhaps Ayalon wanted to depict the refugee problem as it exists today and how Israel would look if it returned to the 1967 lines – i.e the 1948 lines.
But thank you for your comment and welcome to my blog.
