Happy Yom Yerushalayim!

Yerushalayim shel Zahav - Jerusalem of Gold. The Old City Walls

!חג שמח  It’s Yom Yerushalayim – Jerusalem Day – the day we celebrate the reunion of Jerusalem as an undivided city, and the victory of Israel over its Arab enemies in the 6-Day War of 1967.

There is so much polemic, so much bias, so much ignorance, and so much simple hatred towards Israel, Zionism and the Jews, one hardly knows where to begin to counter it.

The two videos that I have posted here will amply help to dispel these negative ideas and help us promote the truth about Jerusalem (and by extension Judea and Samara) and its Jewish history.

The first video is a potted (very potted!) history of 4,000 years of Jerusalem’s life. The second video is from Honest Reporting and illustrates well how the Jewish narrative of its relationship with Jerusalem has been distorted over the years. It brings live testimony from former residents of the Old City who were expelled in 1948, from when the world decided that Old Jerusalem became “historic Arab Jerusalem”.

Watch and enjoy!

Translation: cba said “the Temple Mount is in our hands” (Rabbi Goren’s famous call in 1967) but unfortunately it’s not quite like that. It WAS in our hands for about a day and then it was given back to the Arabs by Moshe Dayan. Today Jews can only go up with special permission and they are forbidden from praying there. So we have a long way yet to go.
