UK Foreign Secretary William Hague
Britain’s Foreign Secretary William Hague made a very undiplomatic, almost overt threat against Israel today not to undermine the Iranian nuclear deal:
Britain’s Foreign Secretary William Hague said on Monday that Israel should avoid taking any action that would undermine the interim nuclear agreement reached between Iran and world powers.
Urging world leaders to give the interim deal a chance, Hague said it was important to try to understand those who opposed the agreement. But he urged Israel and others to confine their criticism to rhetoric.
“We would discourage anybody in the world, including Israel, from taking any steps that would undermine this agreement and we will make that very clear to all concerned,” Hague told parliament.
Hague, who gave an update on the nuclear talks in Geneva, added he had not seen any signs that any country opposed to the agreement would try to disrupt it “in any practical way”, but said Britain would be “on its guard”.
“On it’s guard” to do what, Mr. Hague? Invade Israel from the sea? With its Navy heading for the scrapheap? Bomb Israel from the air? With its shrunken Air Force? Perhaps they will just add a few of those antisemitic boycott, divestment and sanctions on Israeli products or academics.
Britain would be better off warning Iran not to violate the agreement, to cease enriching uranium and to stop those centrifuges from spinning, so that Israel doesn’t have any reason to attack Iran.
Hague is acting like a jumped-up little squirt, wanting to look like he’s The Man. He’s forgetting he’s not even worthy to be considered Obama’s poodle (like Tony Blair was).
France too is trying to dissuade Israel from attacking Iran (perhaps they should have carried through on their disagreement with America about signing the deal), but they’re going about it a little more diplomatically, confidently announcing that Israel is
not likely to launch any preventative strikes on arch-foe Iran, “because no one would understand” such a move “at this stage.”
I’m not sure anyone in Israel understands what Fabius is talking about either, but at least he and the EU are claiming to have Israel’s security interests at heart:
“This lifting of sanctions is limited, targeted and reversible,” he said, adding that it would take place “in December.”
Meanwhile, the EU’s Faaborg-Andersen tried to quell Israeli fears in a meeting of EU ambassadors together with Israeli Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz in Jerusalem.
“We very much have Israel’s security at heart,” he said.
Faaborg-Andersen condemned “inflammatory statements (on Israel) coming out of Iran,” saying it was “only natural that Israel wants to weigh in on these important negotiations that have been conducted with Iran.”
Despite their pretty words I doubt Israel will be putting its chances in the hands of France and the EU – or Britain for that matter – let alone America.
In fact, and has been pointed out repeatedly both here and in every pro-Israel media outlet, the very deviousness of the negotiations and the deal with Iran only increase the likelihood of an Israeli attack.

Anne, I love God, and so I love Israel. Upon review of the Old Testament Scripture, Israel always did well when the Jewish leaders and people fell on the mercy of God and sought His direction. Don’t let the actions of the rest of the world ever cause your people to forget that they are God’s people and God’s witness to this world. I love my country, but I would never turn my heart against God in order to show it.
You are right of course Debby. I don’t think there’s any chance of the Jewish people, but particularly the Israelis, of forgetting G-d. Our entire existence is nothing short of miraculous. We also have a saying in times of trouble: We survived Pharaoh, we’ll survive this too.
Hague: “We have achieved Peace For Our Time, now don’t you yids go around messing it up.”
Faaborg-Andersen: “Now, now, Israel… remember, ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me!’ Well, OK, so Iran might be building a really big stick-and-stone machine, but if he hits you with it we’ll be sure to issue a stern letter of concern.”
That’s such a good summary. Short and to the point.

Netanyahu saw this coming and so do the Arabs. That’s why Bibi tried to get ahead of the game by denouncing the deal at the onset. Notice, there is no attempt to justify the deal on it merits, only to denounce Israel for failing to go along. It becomes that much more important first to continue to challenge Britain and the US on the merits – not generalities – and to monitor, document and corroborate the violations. Britain and the US will lie to avoid the appearance of failure – their administrations are dependent on success in the coming elections. There will be no violation so grave as to terminate the agreement, re-impose sanctions, much less threaten military action. Israel must re-create a realistic “red line” that is both critical to its security and that of the Arabs and likely to be violated that will succeed in humiliating the signers sufficiently to make the military action viable. That is a highly likely scenario that could alter the direction currently taken by Iran and that may find itself caught in its own trap.
Precisely. The deal in itself is the thing, rather than its contents. So now the deal is done, Israel must not be allowed to ruin it by declaring the Emperor is naked.
In which case, why should Israel bother. It’s not as if the world is not aware of Iran’s violations from way back when.
I don’t think there is any red line that will humiliate the signers, particularly the Americans. Israel should clearly announce its own red line and act when it has been crossed. Though I actually think our red line was crossed a long time ago, and I fear Bibi has left it too late. He is sorely lacking a backbone.
The good news is that Britain will soon cease to exist as we know it. About a half million gypsies from Romania are about to invade and colonise it in January and soon you won’t be able to move in Britain’s cities without being accosted by beggars, pickpockets and thieves. This is of course a suitable measure for measure punishment to “Perfidious Albion” for keeping the Jews out of Palestine, now they will be inundated! The political result will be a huge victory for the UKIP party in the next (brought forward?) General Election, with the conservative party including and especially William Hague consigned to the dustbin of history.

Nobody seems to think deeper into this catastrophic event. Has anybody ever thought about the “wicked Axis” ? That is the quiet but firm arrangement Iran has with N.Korea. N.K. has perfected missiles that can reach the West Coast of the USA. N.Korea has a fully developed Nuclear capability. N.Korea have quietly divided up the world between them insofar Iran will focus on the middle east, whilst N.K. will take over the Americas, North and South. A similar situation
existed between the Nazis and the Japs during WWII. I can visualise Nuclear bombs falling in Europe, on UK, France, Germany, Italy, etc. whilst N.K will blast the shit out of the USA, Canada and S.America.
Normally I would say, we will be dancing on the roof, especially when
it happens to Obama and Hague, but I am afraid we might not be around having ourselves in Israel been blown apart.
Were it not for the crazy left-wingers, liberals, we have in this country we would probably have gone ahead a few years ago to blast Iran’s weapon sites and thus saved ourselves and possibly the world.

Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if America had been thinking of N. Korea but simply ignored them as irrelevant, or even necessary in order to weaken America, as my next post points out.
As for Israel – I agree with you 100%. Bibi not only has a problem finding his backbone in order to attack, but back when he was ready and willing, our leftists made such a fuss that he backed down. He’s going to have to find that backbone again, and this time ignore the leftists. I have a feeling that this time the leftists will mostly be on board. We’ll see.
anne – just a guess and I could be wrong. it looks like Mr. Hague is acting as a spokesman for the UN Security Council – meaning that they have told him to give feedback to Israel. What it all means – is anybody’s guess. Everything happens in mirrors and shadows.

No, I doubt it. If he was UNSC spokesman he’d have made damn sure we all knew about it. Britain simply has an inflated sense of its own worth, and still harks back to its days of Empire when it was still Great Britain. The Empire is long gone and Britain ain’t so great any more. In the long run it’s not a good thing for the civilized world, but they need to recognize how ineffectual they are and look to their own country before they try to sort Israel out.
Anne, From 1st January citizens of Romania have the right of abode, and more importantly – the right to full UK benefits in the UK. So, in all seriousness, an invasion of hundreds of thousands is expected. Whole villages in Romania are expected to empty out. Look at the UK papers especially the Daily Mail for articles and comment. Talk about losing the plot!

I’ve been rubbing my hands in glee from DavidinPT’s reports! This describes schadenfreud to the fullest extent! May it happen to the USA too. But apart from that what about our fate in Israel? If Paddy O’Prager is right not only Israel is in trouble but the world will be incinerated in about 10 minutes. OY! So Bibi has the opportunity to be the saviour of the world (aka Moshiach?!)
I think Paddy was being a tad apocalyptic and pessimistic in his forecast of nuclear war. I don’t think it will come to that. But who knows? I trust Hashem to look after us in the long run. We can’t trust anyone else, can we.
