Purim Same’ach! Happy Purim!

Happy Purim!

Happy Purim!

The festival of Purim began this evening as soon as Shabbat went out. We’ve already been to shul and heard the *Megillah being read, with the ra’ashanim of various sorts – from toy gun caps to bells, whistles, rattling keys – drowning out evil Haman’s name every time it was mentioned; and there was lots of laughter at some of the funny costumes and hats that people turned up in (including yours truly in a very unbecoming turquoise wig. :-) ).

Our Mishloach Manot parcels are all wrapped and ready to be delivered tomorrow, and then we’ll be off to our Seudah at our our daughter’s house together with all our children and grandchildren. Quiet it will certainly not be!

For your Purim entertainment here are a couple of of spoof sites to tickle your funny bone.

I discovered “Preoccupied Territory” only recently – and there’s a great post about how G-d has decided to consolidate St. Patrick’s Day with Purim. I’ll drink to that!

Elder of Ziyon has posted on the Algemeiner a satire introducing the Open Muslim Student’s Association. I know it’s a spoof but seriously it would be a wonderful idea!

And I’m delighted to inform you that one of my favourite satirical websites, Satire-Wire, which ceased publishing a few years ago, has recently come back online. It’s posts on Israel are hilarious – and how I wish they were true!

I leave you with this cute Purim video, The Reveal, with Lipa Schmeltzer and rapper Ari Lesser (via Israel Matzav):

Purim Same’ach! Happy Purim!

Purim Sameach! It’s about time that we can have fun. Enjoy today everyone & May Hashem(G-d ) make all bad things that happen to the Jewish people & our state the State of Israel turn around to be only for our good. ונהפוך הוא ( turning things around as in the story of Esther when evil was vanquished & good came into play)
