Watch Middle East scholar and expert Mordechai Kedar being interviewed – in Arabic – on Al-Jazeera TV about the reactions of the Arab “street” to Donald Trump’s declaration of recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Dr. Kedar utterly destroys the Muslims’ claims to Jerusalem. He then tops it off with a well-aimed swipe at the failed states of the Arab countries.
What a pleasure to watch! I wish I could find a link of the entire interview.

He’s brilliant!
Can the State of Israel give the guy a knighthood? A medal? Perhaps a villa in Caesarea? He’s a national treasure.
He is absolutely fantastic. And he has all the facts at his fingertips, no need to consult notes. And his Arabic is totally colloquial apparently, including nuances indicating he is thoroughly immersed in their culture.
And he’s a friend of one of our synagogue’s board members. He spoke at our shul’s Yom Yerushalayim lecture a few years ago. I could have listened to him for hours! He was riveting.
Why is he the only Israeli I can find who can speak some truth to the Arabs in Arabic? Thanks. After the miserable UN vote I need to see this.
There are plenty of other Arabic speaking officials in Israel, e.g. Ofir Gendelman, the IDF’s Arabic spokesman, but I think that Kedar is the only true scholar of Islam and Arabic who is also totally un-PC and says what he thinks.
